So proud of Live at The McMillan!

Friday 6th October 2017 – What a proud night for Genius!

We had been so excited for this show! Oh hang on…did we not mention…SOLD OUT SHOW! We (Genius and McMillan Theatre) had booked a cracking line-up for this show. Including Britain’s Got Talent star Daliso Chaponda!

Richard James was our MC for the evening and he did a cracking job of warming up the audience for all the fab acts they were about to see!

First up was Eshaan Akbar – We saw Eshaan’s show in Edinburgh and were delighted he was available for this evening! The audience quickly warmed to Eshaan’s style and everyone seemed to really enjoy his set!

During the interval the audience either popped out for a drink or relaxed in the main house awaiting the next section of the show.

Next up after the break was the fabulous Craig Deeley! We have been wanting to see Craig in action for a few years – we were not disappointed! Howls of laughter erupted as he got into his stride! Very animated and quickfire gags rolled on and on throughout his set – we really liked Craig and will definitely be booking him again in Somerset.

The next act was ALF who was the winner of Genius’ Stand Up For Cider 2017 – Alf is very visual and uses an array of handmade props. The gags are extremely funny and involved the whole audience to guess what  was coming next or join in with daft songs! Alf is very popular on the South West comedy scene so do keep an eye out for him.

Finally, our headline act made his way to the stage! The audience erupted into applause and you could really feel the energy and excitement in the room. Daliso has the biggest smile and everyone sat back as he regaled us with stories from Britain’s Got Talent! He told some of the jokes that saw him through to the Grand Final. He also had a lot of new material and it was a joy to watch. His expressions and story telling ability was awesome. He was enjoying himself so much he ran over his allotted time but no-one minded. He left the stage to rapturous applause and he also waited in the theatre foyer as people lined up for selfies! He was a real gentleman and a pleasure to work with. He is surely going to be a big star for years to come.

The show came to an end, but not before Rich mentioned our next Live at The McMillan on 2nd February 2018 which is being headlined by the fabulous Rhys James – Tickets available now at The McMillan Theatre Box Office
