Blimey! What a week!
Where to start! We have had an absolutely awesome week! I am exhausted even thinking about it…..
Last Saturday we welcomed Griff Rhys Jones to The McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater. A wonderful SOLD OUT show called Where Was I! Griff was brilliant, a true raconteur! He enthralled the audience with tales from his travel programmes. Warm and engaging. If you get a chance to catch Griff’s show do grab a ticket!
On Tuesday the fabulous Ed Byrne, performed at The McMillan. His tour is called Spoiler Alert. OMG the laughter never stopped! He was fresh and full of energy which was very infectious. Again the show was SOLD OUT! I have seen Ed many times and we met at Edinburgh Festival a couple of years ago in a bar –
On Tuesday we tried to recreate this photo!
Such fun! I love my job!
Thursday we went networking with Somerset Ladies in Business at Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club – a fab venue! It really is an awesome networking group just for ladies! We enjoy listening to interesting and informative presentations and hearing about each other’s businesses….oh and we drink buckets of coffee and eat a fair bit of cake!……(or fruit)….We meet on the last Thursday of each month so if you’re a lady in business in Somerset do get in touch with Fiona and Kim. I won a lovely bottle of Prosecco! Shame I am doing Dry January! It is in the fridge for next week.
On Thursday evening we were guests of Reminiscence Learning at the pantomime Hercules at The Wellesley Cinema in Wellington. The quality of the acting and singing, music and scenery took my breath away! Absolutely brilliant! A quick link back to the torture known as Dry January… I am doing it for Rem Learning and Conquest Riding for the Disabled. The link to sponsor me is HERE I am very close to my target and I would dearly love to raise as much as I can for these wonderful charities! It has been very hard!
So, onto Friday… The 1st Heat of Stand Up For Cider 2018! Another SOLD OUT show – 3 sold out shows in just one week! How fabulous is this? I have loads of photos and content so will do a separate blog!
Onto today (Saturday 27 Jan)….. I was a guest on Any Other Business on BBC Somerset My fellow guests were Fares Moussa, Theatre Manager at Strode Theatre in Street, a very interesting and amusing young fella, also on the show was Bryony Brook from Wells Festival of Literature among many other brilliant things she does! Simon Parkin is the presenter on Any Other Business and the morning show on BBC Somerset too. A very lovely gentleman! Bryony and I went for a coffee after the show and chatted for a couple of hours! We have a mutual friend in Giles Adams who is the editor of What’s on Somerset – I expect his ears were burning!
