Quantock Brewery Show – 26th Aug 2017!

Saturday 26th August 2017 was our 2nd Stand Up For Real Ale!

As per the previous show it was completely SOLD OUT! Thanks to the wonderful team at Quantock Brewery in Bishops Lydeard.

They had also arranged for a pop up Gourmet Hot Dog stall – Fully loaded and absolutely delicious!

Our wonderful MC for the evening was Carl Jones from Derbyshire – Smooth and charming, he soon had the audience in the palm of his hand and in stitches too!

He introduced our opening act from Cheltenham – Demetris Deech – He started his act by saying he had only been booked that morning! (He hadn’t by the way!) – we had a drop out a week earlier from a fab comedian who had just won an all expenses weekend holiday in Edinburgh! I have just returned and was happy he was able to go to the best comedy festival in the World! Demitris or Deech as he likes to be called had some fab material and the audience warmed to him very quickly! Lots of local jokes (for local people!)

We then had a 15 minute break for more delicious beer! My husband particularly enjoyed the Plastered Pheasant! Yummy!

Carl then introduced our middle act – Mark Dennett – He walked onto the stage and immediately made a joke about how much it would cost for the big barrel of real ale behind him! When told he said ‘does that include VAT!’ as in vat…oh you must get it! He then went on to do my favourite material about taking your turn to make the tea in a busy office! I have heard it before but this felt different – more polished and loaded with fantastic jokes – Mark enjoyed quite a few call backs too! Job well done!

After another cheeky beer break we were introduced to our headline act Danny Suttcliffe! Wow! Wow! Wow! This fella was on fire! One fab gag followed another! Plenty of audience interaction and almost indescribable in a great way. Lots of jokes about Manchester and Moss Side which went down very well…We particularly loved his banter about the shortage of loos! So funny!

We were also treated to some great interaction from Genius’ favourite audience! They really know how to behave! Lots of local banter including Blowings and Pilots! You probably had to be there!

The next Stand Up For Real Ale is on Sat 2nd December – Our Headliner for this show is going to be the fantastic Gareth Berliner who plays Macca in Coronation Street!

Book your tickets NOW as this next show is sure to sell out quickly!
